"I want to be a millionaire at 25 years old." I was 19 when I first uttered this phrase. You see I waited for 19 years to finally say it.
Over these years, I have met people wealthy and not, happy and not, successful and not. This made me realized what I am writing here.
The Belief Patterns
For many cultures, talking about money is a taboo. It should not be discussed. It is awkward to talk about money.
That wanting so much money is bad.
What I realized is that - not making or making good amount of money is product of our mental conditioning about it.
In order for one to get any amount of wealth is to first break the building blocks and the misconception about money.
It is not your circumstances that made you poor or rich but it is how you respond to circumstances, how you see yourself and how you believe in your capabilities in achieving your dreams.

We have different beliefs about money, that it is either bad or it is good.
Family, culture or our environment may have influenced us with our beliefs towards money. And I respect that.
It might not be a good opinion but wanting to have money is not bad at all. It allows us to do or afford our hearts' desires. And I think that what we desire makes it either bad or good and not the money itself.
Loving money more than your self or life is what makes it bad, maybe. Allowing money to control you or making money as the center of your life is what made it not so desirable.
Money must serve you! Not you being enslaved by money. It has to give you convenience and provide you access to quality life.
I cannot name all the limiting beliefs that was planted in your subconscious mind or I do not know how you were programmed in your childhood so let me list down instead the new beliefs that might help you.
New Beliefs
1. You are born to be rich.
Yes you are. You may feel overwhelmed, fearful or laughing out loud now but yes we are all born for the opportunity to be wealthy. You can argue with this statement but which can help you more? To accept the belief that you are born to be wealthy or to remain poor?
2. To be rich is a choice and not a destiny.
Your birth offers you the right to enjoy every benefits of being a citizen in your country but not all are maximizing or leveraging on these. You see, whatever right you are entitled is not always use but it's available since the day you were born.
We have our universal right to equality.
Isn't it beautiful that we have equal chances to contribute to this world?
You have to unlock it!
The key to discovering your life's potentials and gifts begins from deciding to choose what gift is best to be discovered and owned by you.
Being in your situation now is not an accident nor it is a destiny but it is a result of the collective choices, actions or even inactions in your past.
I am not writing this to judge you. I'm just stating an idea that might help you.
If I have accepted it that I am going to stay poor because I was born in a poor household then most likely I will be in the same situation that I have been complaining about.
I am not claiming that I am rich (I will get there with the required action) but I am very thankful to have found the consciousness and operate according to what I believe I can achieve. I am also grateful to have crossed the poverty line - that is by overcoming my limiting beliefs.
Again, accept it - you are born to be rich and to be rich is a choice.
3. It takes time to be rich and countless effort is required.
Not because you have accepted the first two new beliefs that I have mentioned it will make you an overnight millionaire.
Do you know why quick-rich-schemes are very saleable? Because it offers no effort and an overnight success to the the lazy people. There is no substitute for effort and learning years.
You give someone a million, the same million will ran out in time. Because without understanding to the value of work, the skills required to make progress and even the attitude to use the wealth well, it is nothing but a piece of printed paper.
Wealth is not made in the bank but it's the activities in the marketplace.
The demand and the supply is always there and whoever is good at mastering the work and taking advantage of the timing to supply, to serve, to sell, to work or to be in any of those market activities owns the profit.
And the biggest profit goes to the one smart enough to use a lever ethically and legally.
Just remember not because you have decided to be wealthy and to do the work you will wake up rich. It takes time.
Quote for you: The best time to plant a tree is always now and the harvest is later.
4. Your Wealth Does Not Measure Your Happiness but It's Your Purpose
I have met wealthy people who does not find purpose in their days anymore. I have met successful millennials who exist for themselves only. I also have met average people but with extraordinary purpose in life. I met poor people who live with so much joy and purpose.
Quote for you: Not all rich are unhappy but not all poor are happy neither.
Life is an everyday mystery and purpose helps you solve one at a time. Not because you have no money you are not serving a good purpose and not because you have so much money you are able to contribute a meaningful purpose.
If you have made that decision to be rich, or if you are someone starting to work for that wealth, ask yourself with these questions. Let it guide you. Your answers are personal choices and whatever pleases you, is yours to enjoy.
- What is money for you?
- If you have enough money today, what will you do or buy?
- How much is enough for you?
