On average, the new generation of workers labeling themselves as millennials stays in a job for 2-3 years. Millennials don't stay in the same office longer than that, trap them in and they will become least productive if not rebellious.
The world of employment is going to be transformed in the next 20 years.
Technology will not only change the way we do business but it will transform our perspective about getting paid.
The Birth of Remote Working
There is a rise in out of the box business model, a do-it-yourself operation, new corporate structures, and cultures are also being formed and introduced. The best way to survive as a business is to capitalize on this changing identity of the new workforce.
Over 20 years ago, the supervisors or seniors are literally older people in that company. But the picture is being changed every day - there are more and more younger department heads, operators and business owners now.
Businesses without the open-minded, visionary, bold, fun and adventurous culture are slowly fading.
Older systems are not only replaced but they are becoming obsolete and are losing in the marketplace.
Remote working is the new inclusion to the package in attracting the millennials. The flexibility to work from home, the ease to start a business and run it from any location.
Millennials do not speak the language of "competition" but of collaboration.
Salesforce is no longer called salesforce or team but a community.
What is the New Currency of the Future?
The new currency now does not only count formal education but they include the ideas and the vision that this rising generation is leading us.
Founders, starters, innovators, creators, crafter, digital nomad, freedom builders, lifestyles are the new most common words in the vocabulary of the millennials now.
As business operators, it should not be seen as a threat instead, as an opportunity to be properly matched with new products, new service orientation, new corporate operational standards or management style.
Being able to understand these changes can give any companies the edge to be relevant and still exist in the next 20 years.
Companies now do not only need to develop a good product but to attract the best talents who understand the trends and the demands.
There are a global disruptions happening. More people are empowered by technology, more startups are built to solve and answer our everyday problems, more methods are developed.
IF you do not understand these changes, as an employee you can become the next elevator operators, telephone operators, order takers or customer service staffs that will be replaced by bots. If you are a company, you can become the next Xerox, Nokia or Kodak.
