Until today the bad experiences from those questionable activities are still giving skepticism to many of its victims.
"MLM is bad! People are motivated by greed."
"Network marketing is unethical! I've seen it."
"Direct selling is hard. It's not for me."
These are common lines from people who have heard of it or who had quit doing it.
But is it really true that network marketing is a bad business motivated only by greed?
I had the opportunity to witness how network marketing evolved and have proven to be a good source of both part-time and full-time income.
If 20 years ago was the worst time to join a bad network marketing business, we are now in 2020! There are good network marketing companies too who have survived and proven that not all companies in the network marketing industry are driven by greed.
Anyone has the power now to check the validity of any income or product claims. We now have access to check reviews about an organization or the leader.
With the changing technologies today, it's one of the best times in human history to start building a remote work, digital-powered or home-based business.
And these are the lessons that I had in making it easier for me to run my network marketing business.
1. Understand the business.
What do you do when you look for a job? You will make your own research about that company. Then when that company hires you, you will study and acquire the important information to be the right fit for that role.
Network marketing works that way too.
Many people are inspired and motivated by the success stories shared by the leaders but they failed to see the need to study the business before they start talking about it to others.
If you want to fly an airplane, you need to study how to fly an airplane. You cannot succeed in a business without knowing where and how to properly start.

2. Follow the system
Simplify your life and copy the system.
Why complicate your life trying to reinvent the wheel? When someone already used the same wheel effectively?
I am not discouring you to innovate, but in starting, get a mentor to guide you and allow them to show you how it is done. Create your result first rather than wasting your time and effort answering questions that were already answered before.
Collaborating with others and joining a team is the best way to learn a proven system.

3. Upgrade your skills
Your success outside network marketing might help you but you need to be a learner here. It takes humility to accept that being someone new in this industry, new set of skills are also required.
Yes, you are your own boss here. But you also handle recruitment, product presentations, sales and marketing and even leading your team.
Before you can be an effective leader, you need to know how to be a good follower first.
Get a mentor to help you. It's the fastest way to upgrade your skills.
4. Integrate technology in your business
Technology brought us to where we are today.
If you have no one to guide you - audiobooks are free on Youtube.
If you have no brand or prospects to talk - Facebook and Instagram have over 2Billion users.
If you lack the product knowledge - a reliable website was already published for your reference.
If you have limited time and access to do home meetings - Zoom or Skype is for you.
If you have a small capital to start - Network Marketing welcomes you!
Make no excuse. Before you count on your limitations, try to at least ask - how can technology make it happen for you?
5. Stick to your schedule
Were you sold to the idea of becoming your own boss?
Me too.
But I remember hearing this from a leader, "If you don't make a profit being self-employed, it means you are a lousy boss."
When you lose the focus and consistency, you are also losing the chance of achieving your expected outcome here, make a schedule.
a. Create a daily schedule for your business activities.
Small yet consistent efforts build momentum.
b. Set your goals and vision.
Your vision is your crystal clear direction of where you are going. Your goals are your specific targets to bring you closer to your vision.
6. Invest in lasting customer experience.
The customer is the king!
The more you are interested in helping your customers, the longer the brand loyalty and the more they will be willing to refer friends and customers back to you.
Just like your job, it is no work no pay. Just like your job, it takes time to get the promotion. But as soon as you will get the understanding about this business, you will work differently and you may create results differently.

P.S. To grow your network
Stop chasing your prospects. Instead, focus on investing in your emotional bank account first. Your network is your net worth, the more value you are giving the better your chance of creating your success.
