Social Media Marketing is a very workable strategy to grow your business online. I have seen both successful and not so successful stories of business builders using Social Media.

Being one of the most active leaders using Social Media and also leading a global team with combined online and offline strategies, I've learned so much and witnessed the power of Social Media for entrepreneurs.

I first used Social Media in 2013, in my company it was not yet common or there were limited training tools about it yet. Looking back, I am grateful to have taken my business online with over 80% of my transactions now done through platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

In this post, I am sharing the 8 most effective tips to grow your business and help you share your products, opportunity, or personal brand to your market without annoying your potential customers with your excessive social media posts.

The 8 Most Effective Tips to Grow Your Network Marketing Business Online;

1. Be You.

First of all, do an audit on the pictures that you are posting on social media. Being you means being authentic. For people to believe in you, they need to see you. Are you using your personal photo as your profile picture? What type of impression are you giving when people will visit your profile? What's in your bio or post history?

2. Focus on topics your connections are interested to listen.

We love stories! Who does not? Plan your post with topics that are conversation-building or people are more interested to watch or listen. The best formula in planning for the types of content you will be posting is to ask - "What type of problems or issues are my friends experiencing?

You do not need to completely appear and speak like an expert!

Just be there as a friend. Speak sincerely and naturally about it.

Extra tip: If you cannot be educating with your contents, be at least entertaining.

3. Stop Selling.

The more you try to sell, the more they will try to avoid you. Be there as the storyteller.

Sample lines that I do not see helpful;
"I am selling....buy now."
"PM me for your orders."

Instead, use images or videos to talk about the possible experience or benefits that they can have...

Sample helpful lines;

Skincare product: "I am super amazed with...what an experience to finally see my skin....."

Detox product: "I thought detoxing is not fun. I was wrong! Happy to have found the right program for me."

Nutrition product: "Self-care includes what for you? For me, it's about listening to my health and helping it recover from the everyday impacts of my not so healthy lifestyle."

There are many ways to create stories that are both relevant to your customers and to what you do.

My markets are mostly millennials, so for me to get their attention I will sometimes stream a Facebook live on topics that are helpful to them. Then I talk as if they are in front of me on topics like;

"My most important investments before turning 30 years old."
"My financial advice to my younger self."
"How I maintain my weight?"
"How to improve your self-confidence?"

4. We’re in the Lifestyle Business

I rarely talk about money. Because people see money differently. But my reminder to myself to stay attractive to my market is to focus on sharing my lifestyle on how I integrate my business, my products, my passion, and my purpose together.

As much as possible I will try to avoid talking about issues like politics. In posting, you should not be judgemental. Oh please! Don't judge your friends for not joining you yet. The more you force your idea, the more they will avoid you.

5. Remember CLC

Click, Like, Comment.

Another best way to really make your friends follow and trust you is by staying an active connection. Commit to do CLC with at least 4-6 people every day! The more engagements you do, the more reach and awareness you keep.

6. Create an Alternating Post

"I am in company XYZ. The best company!" And you are saying this everyday! BIG NO!

Post 3 posts without your sales pitches. Posts that are EEI - Exciting, Engaging & Interesting! Then the fourth post is about your company.

Remember that people hate to be sold but they love to buy.

7. Message People Privately

"Thank you for liking my post."
"Hi how are you? Thank you for accepting my friend request."
"That's a cute cat!"
"Congratulations on your new promotion!"

That very touching message! You see? At some point, we expect to make a sale without depositing into the emotional bank account.

8. Create Your Own Page!

If you see yourself becoming a brand, a leader in your company or in the industry. Start building your Facebook page.
