Being yourself, having a solid group of friends who accept you, or the ability to do those that you love doing may influence your happiness. But your understanding of happiness also play a role.
1. Define your happiness.
No one is more qualified to dictate your own happiness but you. You must understand that happiness is something that is defined by you. That definition must be connected to your soul, your passion and personal choice.
So don't stress yourself trying to fit in to someone else's definition of happiness.
Take the pride of expressing your own ways of becoming happy.
What makes you happy with pride, without guilt, or without losing your soul?
2. Control your own state of mind.
Your mental state affects your happiness. So you must make a conscious effort of filtering what you are putting into your mind. Your quality of thoughts is creating the quality of life that you will follow.
Remember that you cannot live a happy life, with a complaining mindset.
Own that power to choose your state of mind.
3. Create an appreciation list.
Life is not perfect and it will never be. There will always be bad experiences or problems that you may encounter from time to time and how you respond to these rough days will shape your happiness.
When you are experiencing a rough day, start writing about the things that you are grateful about. Soon you will realize that your blessings are bigger that your problems.
Appreciate more, complain less.
4. Create memories and experiences you can treasure.
We came to this life naked, we will also leave this life naked. Bringing nothing but memories.
What is wealth when you are not living your life's adventures?
Experience something memorable with those people you value most.
Do something that will feed your creativity, something inspirational, something that will challenge you to be a better person.
Laugh at your mistakes. Don't be afraid to make one.
5. Live a healthier lifestyle.
It is difficult to stay happy when you are not healthy. When your health is failing, your wealth too will fail.
To stay happy, be healthy.
Exercise regularly. It helps to produce endorphins to give you that good feeling.
Eat whole food not junk food. You need the right combination of nutrients to fuel you. Good food gives you good energy.
Get a good night sleep. Allow yourself to recover and heal.
You are happier when you can do more.
Hospital bed is not only an expensive bed but it is also a lonely bed.
6. Choose your company.
Don't waste you time with the wrong people. Right company makes you happy. They will lead you to the right path in life.
So ask yourself, I am surrounded by people who will allow me to grow and succeed?
When you are with the wrong people, you will feel guilty, doubt on yourself, live with less direction and no hope.
Have the right environment.
7. Don't compare yourself to others
Jealousy is a disease to mind. It poisons your happiness.
We all live with our unique choices, dreams and sacrifices in life.
We are gifted with our abilities.
Spend your time and energy to serving your purpose. Do things with passion. Because when you pour your passion into something the right rewards follow.
