A city with glitzy casinos and millions of tourists.
My trip to Las Vegas was one of my unforgettable trips. I visited Vegas with a friend who convinced me to experience the lights and sounds of Vegas.
Hakkasan - one of the top nightclubs in Las Vegas hosting world- famous DJs like Tiësto, Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Kaskade, Zedd and more was our first stop in my first night.
It was 100% free access so thanks to my friend's networking skills.
I do not want to give you a different impression here. I stayed in that club for less than an hour. Again it's only for the experience and I did not even have a drink.
My friend needed to fly back to Australia the following day. So I was alone for the rest of the week.
Hotels like The Linq, Flamingo Hotel and Casino, or any hotels within The Las Vegas Strip are good choices if you want to stay where the crowd is.
Most mid-range hotels in Vegas charge for resort fee ranging $30-$60/room/night. I had a great deal staying in a 4 Star Hotel for about $35 only per night.
Almost FREE almost!
Here's my travel tip: Compare rates from Hotelscombined.com, Kayak or Skyscanner. At times traveling within Southeast Asia, Traveloka is also offering good deals. Hotelscombined.com is always my favorite.
I am a lucky traveler, my hotel gave me a $20 breakfast credit daily. So my stay is basically almost FREE. That is almost $15/night before resort fee now.
It's usual for hotels in Las Vegas to collect a resort fee. With this fee, you have free internet access, fitness center and pool access and breakfast.
By the way if you want to make sure that you are paying with the right value, you can use TripAdvisor to see the reviews.
It was a rare experience. The hotel I stayed at was with 21+ only pool. What's in there? A pool without kids for sure.
FREE things to do or go?
Within the Las Vegas Strip is The LINQ Promenade, The Venetian Las Vegas, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand and Belagio which has its dancing fountain show starting 3pm-8pm happening every 30 minutes and every 15 minutes from 8pm till midnight.
On weekends Fashion Show Mall also has free runway shows & entertainment featuring the latest fashions and styles.
Fremont Street Experience at the Downtown is something you should do outside the Strip. Evenings are a lot of free music including the 3rd street stage and the light show overhead which runs every hour on the hour. Dining is cheaper than the strip.
If you want to just stay in your hotel, Casinos or Pool Party might be for you but for people like me just bring me to the musicals and broadway shows which hotels also offer at a reasonable cost.
The Grand Canyon is another must do if you are in Nevada or Arizona. It's nature's "living painting." It's about 14 hours total tour which only cost $80 including buffet lunch.
There are so much to things do in Las Vegas and this is what you can do with $400 for 5 days in Las Vegas but if you have extra cash on hand or your card is with you try to visit Las Vegas Premium Outlets North. Be happy!
Getting around Las Vegas
- Walking The Strip is 4.2 miles long – don't assume you can walk easily between casino hotels, even those that appear to be close together.
- Bus Day passes on the 24-hour Deuce and faster (though not 24-hour and not servicing all casinos) SDX buses are an excellent way to get around.
- Monorail Expensive, inconveniently located on the east side of the Strip and with a limited route, but great views and regular services.
- Tram Operates between some casinos. Free and slow.
- Taxi Expensive. Tips are expected.
- Rideshare By far the best way to get around Vegas in most circumstances, and even cheaper when traveling with others. Download Uber or Lyft!
