Over 90% of the sales agents in real estate, direct selling, insurance, and many other related professions are struggling to make a sale.  I had my own struggles in my business and in this post, I hope to share to you the top skills that helped me changed my results.

Here are the top 10 skills every sales agent must learn, my gift to you based on my 8 years of selling adventures in the 21st century;

1. Goal Setting

What gets measured gets done. This is the first skill, your ability to make a sale and to achieve your sales target is determined by the goals you set.

By knowing your goals, you are able to make the necessary adjustments or improvements for you to realize that goal.

Example:

If the goal is to generate $200,000 in sales monthly, you will start asking yourself then about the how's, who's, the what's, the when's and the where's of your business.

2. Networking

Your skill to find the right people, to keep these people and to grow your network is an ingredient to your success. As said, "your network is your networth."

Networking is not only about being able to find the best people for you to sell your products, but it's also about the opportunity to be influenced by your network to desire for the best.

3. Approaching

People hate to be sold but they love to buy.

Stop being a salesperson. Be a solution provider. Being able to position yourself as an expert in what you do helps you to get a better sale. It can allow you to naturally approach your target market and attract them to trust you if you focus on adding value first before getting the sale.

4. Motivating

As you try to pursue your career in ales, you will have countless of rejections, discouragements, and even distractions. Can you move forward? You are setting your own sail here, and having the skill to motivate yourself, your team and your customers is an important ingredient to your survival.

I made goal setting as skill #1 because it allows any salesperson to get started, and it is motivation that keeps us moving!

Motivation gives you the force, the energy to take bigger actions.

5. Presenting

This is very important! How you share your products affect your customer acquisitions. Don't present for the sake of telling your prospects that you have a product.

You have to study how to effectively present. It's the lifeblood of any business.

Touch the soul by communicating from the heart.

You do this by growing your product knowledge and guiding your customers to understand their problem and that is when you bring in the solution.

The more you present, the more you increase your confidence and radiate a strong conviction to your customers.

Don't blame yourself if your prospects are not yet buying, it's maybe not yet their time to pay for a need or a want.

6. Scheduling

Everyone has the same 24 hours a day and how you use it changes your future. Scheduling is not simply having your “to do list” for the day but it’s about identifying your priorities and how smart you are in using your time.

Be conscious with your time, you are either rewarded or you will regret for not having a good time management skill.

What do you think about this list? I have mentioned about 10 skills and I would love to share the complete list soon. Write your comment below for me to update you on the remaining 4 skills. You can also share this to your friends who are in our exciting world of selling.
