1. Be natural.

Your “flaw-someness” is your awesomeness.

When you are posting, post natural yet creative contents.

What stops most direct sales agents from growing in social media marketing is the fear that they do not have highly crafted and planned contents. Planned contents are fantastic but focus on being natural.

When you "appear to be too perfect" your prospects might see your business as something too complicated or they might not understand what you are really offering.

If the sports car is yours then do post it, if the income is true then go and post it but remember extraordinary income or lifestyle claims are sometimes seen as "too good to be true" and it is true.

You are trying to market to ordinary people like me. I want a business that I can understand and easily copy and do or I need a product that I really will use.

2. Represent your crowd

The best way to attract the crown is to represent them. Talk about issues they are interested to listen or to watch.

Certain groups have certain interests;

Millennials - travel, savings, health, lifestyle, grooming, food and dining

Mothers - women empowerment, work from home, healthy recipe, parenting, saving

Corporate people - career, health, retirement

If you can’t be educating, be at least entertaining.

3. Focus on quality not quantity.

Specialize your messaging on a specific style rather than posting anything and everything. Be a brand on something more specific.

What do you want to be known for or expert at?

Healthy lifestyle
Travels
Goals
Motivation
Specific skills
Cooking
Parenting
Positivity
Global warming

Create contents that will make an impact on your audience. It's not how many posts you post but it's how your messages touched them as those reached them. We want natural but quality contents.

With social media marketing, can you grab your market's attention and say everything in less than 5 or 3 minutes? Can you say in in 140 character text? Can you say the message through image and a little caption?

4 Engagement is more important than volume.

It’s better to have 1,000 connections who engage and share your contents than to have 100,000 connection who are inactive followers.

It is great to have 1,000,000 followers, but what is the use of these followers if they are not seeing your contents or buying your offers? Post for interaction and engagement. Do this to connect with your audience, even if your audience is already growing keep your contents as natural and personal as possible.

Your followers who are commenting, reacting or reading are more important than those who follow without even noticing you.

5. Remember the 5E’s -

When you post ask - Am I engaging, exciting, educating, entertaining and empowering?

Followers who hate you will never buy from you - PERIEOD!

The book about social media marketing is not yet written and taught in school. But it does not mean it cannot be done.

Social Media is now replacing the traditional TV, Billboards, Radio, Newspaper and other big-name influencers, remember the 5E's in posting.

Let me say this;

I post to engage my audience.
I post to educate them but I do not want to be boring.
So I give them entertainment.
The better entertainment, the more excited they will be to know more about me.
Though it is online, I want to still empower them and that is how I give value.
Value creates relationship. Relationship means everything in business.

Here's my gift for you, a summary of this blog.
