How the "Gadget Generation" Is Killing Other Businesses?

I have seen so many Millennials own cool gadgets from digital watch, to phone, to Fitbit and Macbook.  I own them too so I do not blame you for becoming part of the trend or wanting to be with this confusing trends.

One of the weaknesses maybe of this generation is the inability to stay focused and the compulsive behavior of getting something without fully maximizing the existing resources first.

Millennials have "go get it" mentality which is a good strength allowing us to excel and surprisingly make things work or startup grow even with the complexity of our environment and our plans.

We love to travel, we love to meet new people, we love to have fun, we love to not think to much at work and think more on the fun or maybe the future. We love to serve but most importantly to be served well in terms of buying a product or service - if not our universal tool to complain or the friendlier term is "review" about the experience well be used and shared.

If you ignore them you are losing them.

Social media is our greatest tool to connect, to advance our skills and knowledge and even find new friends.

There are so much things we love aside from technology, Starbucks, or again travel and wanting to work in a collaborative model and in a set-up where we can express ourself or discover fuller self-expression.

These desires are empowering us not only to create products that satisfy these love's but also to tailor-fit our condition in a way that we do not stop following our passion but still we are able to do deliver what is expected from us like -working and making our living. That's why digital nomadic life exist now.

If your service is bad your customers are recruited by them using "free-word-of mouth" advertisement in Social Media.

Millennials are great researches now. They do not only read recommendations from single influencer but they also read reviews from other real customers feedback.

They stop following the book, the new rule now is - street smart ideas and real-time concerns matter more than what is told to do. Millennials are more decisive and really good decision makers.

If your business does not have a website you are dying sooner of later.

They value time and use it on what matters to them. You might judge a Millennial watching  TV, reading Facebook Feeds or going out but that is their way of connecting and coping with the pressures.

Instead of paying bills at the collection counters they pay online. They now buy products online, order services online and even stopped booking travel products through a travel agency that charges a service fee. They call banks or insurance agent to get help without going to the bank to discuss about their investments.

Coffee shop is always a good place to find them for business meetings.

If you control them you lose them.

Millennials stopped using business plans or stops becoming managers. So now entrepreneurs exist, they create startups from ideas without limiting themselves with rules or the norms. Manager manage  organization, Millennial managers are both players and leaders now within the a team. We stopped calling it organization with our want to keep the environment fun and friendly.
